Many people tend to invest a lot of time & money in learning how to succeed in business, how to be a good leader, how to eat well, how to exercise, etc, but not enough time & money on learning spiritual things (the foundation for our lives): how to hear from God, how to walk in faith, who the Holy Spirit is, etc. We, more often than not, approach God (and the things of God) based on assumption (e.g. we assume we know what prayer is & how God would like us to pray, so we don’t study about it; we assume that we understand what having faith is, so we don’t look for material/study scripture to seek to understand it well, etc). This then leads us to assume that when things don’t work out, it’s God who has changed His mind, when in actual sense it’s we that don’t have adequate understanding of God & His ways.
The truth is that the more we understand these spiritual things, the more every other area of our lives makes sense and bears fruit.
1 Timothy 4:8 KJV
“For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.”
John 3:16 KJV
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
John 17:3 KJV
“And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.”
