#AllTheSingleLadies, and men too 🙂
A lot of the time when we express our desire for “mangoes” to God, our expectation is that God will cause the mango to suddenly APPEAR in our lives, when usually He first wants to prepare us for the mango, & an awesome marriage. He loves us so much that He doesn’t just want us to be married, but rather to have an awesome marriage. (I think by this time you’ve already guessed that it’s not the big, juicy fruit I’m referring to here :)). Ultimately, the sweetness of the juice is dependent on the sweetness of the mangoes used to make the juice.
It is therefore easy for us to think that God is not answering our prayers when we don’t see any relationship forthcoming, when in fact He is answering our prayers by the promptings in our spirits to either join a life (cell) group, work on learning to forgive & love our sibling, spend more time with Him in His Word, or get out of debt, whatever the case may be.The sweetness of the marriage juice is dependent on the sweetness of the mangoes used to make the juice.
Many times we run after marriage while ignoring the promptings God is giving us to work on, and grow in various areas of our lives, areas that if we work on and grow in, will eventually contribute to the sweet marriage that we desire to have, and that He desires for us to have.
Therefore, even as we pray for mangoes, let’s listen out for the promptings & instructions God is giving us, in whatever area of our lives they may be in. Let’s trust that He’s heard us, & that as we apply ourselves to what He’s asking/leading us to do at this moment in our lives (Matthew 6:34 MSG), our mango will arrive. God’s got us! ☺
(Psalm 34:10; Proverbs 18:22)
Have a good day peeps!
The young lions lack and suffer hunger;
But those who seek the Lord shall not lack any good thing.
~ Psalms 34:10
He who finds a wife finds a good thing,
And obtains favor from the Lord.
~ Proverbs 18:22
